Interview: Bartosz Białkowski

We sat down with the stopper upon petting pen to paper to talk all things goalkeeping, football and off field.

What made you want to choose The One Glove above others?

I've heard a lot of good things about The One Glove which lead me to talking with Paddy Kenny about you guys,  he echoed what I've seen everywhere and as soon as I put the gloves on I knew he was right, this was the brand for me.

You've had the opportunity to wear, trial and test all of our models. What model will you be wearing next season? And why?

I'm going to wear Nova Type 1 goalkeeper gloves simply because the grip is unreal and them giving me the extra confidence.

Do you have any pre-game rituals or routines? How do you prepare and why?

I always pray just before a game for health.

Other than Ipswich who do you support/follow?

I always supported Man United and hope that they can win the Premier League next season.

Outside of football what do you like to do?

I'm a family guy and I've got 2 wonderful kids so I love spending time with them and my wife.

What advice would you give to aspiring keepers trying to make it in the professional world?

Always train hard no matter what happens, no matter what anyone says and you will benefit from that in the future.

Was there a particular goalkeeper that inspired you growing up? If so, who and why?

As a Man U supporter Peter Shmeichel was my hero.

What has been your most memorable game or experience as a keeper and why?

I've played at the World Cup in Canada for Poland under 20 and we played against some big teams and players. Really enjoyed that tournament.

You made it to the Championship play-offs last season but unfortunately just fell short of a trip to Wembley. How are you planning on kicking on with Ipswich and going again next season?

We had a great season last year and hopefully this one will be full of success. That's our aim, we'll take it one step at a time.

It must have been some atmosphere at both legs, how would you describe it?

Unbelievable, especially at Portman Road the atmosphere is always great but against Norwich it's hard to describe it. You can't put it into words.
