Long signed his first professional contract with Lincoln City in 2020. On 21 October 2021, he was loaned to Gainsborough Trinity, this loan was cut short in November 2021 and he returned back to Lincoln City to play in the FA Cup. In December 2021, he signed a long-term contract keeping him at the club until 2025. In January 2022 he joined Drogheda United on loan for the 2022 season, where he made 15 appearances and kept 3 clean sheets. In July 2022, Long joined Boston United on loan. He was recalled from this loan in January 2023 and then sent on loan to Bromley. He was then recalled to Lincoln City in March 2023, after playing just one game for Bromley.
