Born in Switzerland to Portuguese parents, Pereira is eligible to represent both countries at international level. He signed for Manchester United in 2012, at the age of 16 where he completed loan spells at Rochdale, Belenenses, Vitória de Setúbal, Kortrijk, Hearts and Huddersfield. On May 21st 2017, he started for Manchester United for the first time in the Premier League, against Crystal Palace at Old Trafford. In July 2017, he signed a 4-year deal to stay at Manchester United until 2021. On 5 July 2021, Pereira was confirmed as a new signing at the Mandemakers Stadion on a one year deal with RKC Waalwijk, who play in the Eredivisie, with the option to extend for another year
